As a Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapist, I believe in empowering and helping you to take charge of how you want to experience life. That’s why I offer my clients a wide range of useful information. Feel free to explore these complementary resources I have listed below, to help yourself at your convenience wherever you are.
3 Simple Acts
Place your forefinger together with your thumb and make a circular motion with your forefinger. (Notice how your brain diverts its attention to the sensation rather than focus on other thoughts/feelings).
As you continue, soft focus your eyes. (Our fight/flight mechanism is triggered when we feel "threatened" and our eyes focus).
At the same time, think to yourself something along the lines of "I am safe" "I am calm" "I am ok".
When you begin to feel stressed/anxious your breathing is becomes high in your chest, your Sympathetic nervous system is activated (the body's fight/flight response). Activate your Parasympathetic nervous system and by simply extending your breath for longer as you exhale and feel yourself become calmer.
Speaking with Confidence
Activate your Parasympathetic nervous system and stay in control when speaking to others by adding in an extra word into your sentences. (By adding that extra word, your extending your breath, activating the calm of your Parasympathetic nervous system.) You may be surprised how quickly you get used to this practice.
